Was able to replace the fuel pump without taking the tank out figure there must be quite a lot of brown crud left in the tank that slowly packs into the strainer and will clog it with continued draw.

Fixed the hard acceleration problem however am still experiencing the stall whenever I drive long distance. Did not have a new strainer so I cleaned the old one and replaced the fuel pump. When I pulled the assembly out of the tank the pickup strainer was caked with a brown sludge.

Thought my fuel pump was on the verge of going out so I replaced it. Also I would experience a stallstumble after driving on a long trip. I occasionally experienced hesitation whenever I accelerated hard. So if any of you are thinking it is prolly about time to do your fuel filter.do it Im definately not going to delay replacing the filter next time itsġ996 4.0 with 110K miles. Just thought id make a friendly reminder to everyone to replace their fuel filters Just replaced mine yesterday out in the cold wet winter freezing rain What scared me was that the fuel that poured out of the filter itself was a brownish rust color.
